Why oracy, why now

Speaking is on the curriculum. Engagement is the hard part.

From 2025, England's curriculum embeds oracy — spoken communication — alongside reading and writing. Every school needs demonstrable speaking provision. PodCLASS delivers it through the medium students already love: podcasting.

The result: structured talk, active listening, teamwork and media literacy — with a real published episode as the evidence.

The workshop

From blank page to published episode, in two sessions.

1

Plan

Working in groups of up to 30, students choose a topic, structure an episode and name their podcast — guided by a national broadcaster.

2

Record

Multi-track recording in our mobile studio: RØDECaster Pro consoles and RØDE PodMics — the same kit used by professional podcasts.

3

Edit & publish

Students edit in Adobe Audition and publish a real .mp3 episode to your school's own secure area on this site.

Two formats, featuring Goalhanger content. Choose PodCLASS: Curriculum — built around The Rest Is History and mapped to KS3/KS4 humanities — or PodCLASS: Open, where a montage of Goalhanger shows sparks formats the students invent themselves.
